September 2015 – 620,000 accounts affected

In September 2015, a discussion forum for the Final Fantasy video game was breached and 620,000 player records were stolen including email addresses, passwords and usernames.
Final Fantasy Shrine, or FFShrine as it is called by the users of the Final Fantasy video game forum, was hacked in September 2016. As a result of the cyber breach, approximately 620,000 member player records, including email addresses, passwords and usernames, was published online.
FFShrine's most engaged members quickly alerted other users of the breach on the forum's Twitter account. After a number of questions and discussions about whether the breach and released user logs was real or fake, a FFShrine insider confirmed on the Twitter account that the published records were validated as legit.
