In August 2013, Lord of the Rings Online, an online video game, was breached and more than 1.1MM member accounts were compromised and were actively traded and sold on underground forums. Admins for the game immediately notified members of the breach and the necessity to change their passwords.
Hackers got access to information such as email addresses, dates of birth, IP addresses, passwords, usernames and the website activity of the member.
This was the Lord of the Rings Online’s second breach. The first happened in 2011.
