In July 2015, Wildstar, which is a gaming forum, was breached and more than 738,000 people had private information such as dates of birth, email addresses, IP addresses, passwords and usernames stolen and actively traded underground.
According to reports by users, the breach was not openly disclosed to users, but was rather announced through a Reddit feed. The company representative that disclosed the breach said that as soon as the breach was discovered, the forum was taken down and the software exploit that led to the breach was resolved within a day. The forum also recommended that users be aware of and be diligent to avoid phishing emails and to change their passwords.
